My name is Josh Hoag, I’ve lived in Austin, TX for five years, born and raised in Ohio.
I currently play with Seth Walker, Two High String Band, and various Jazz Bands in Austin. Past bands include Asylum Street Spankers, Frank Wakefield, and Crazy Joe and the Madriver Outlaws.
If you live in Austin or ever come through, a few of us fellow upright players are getting together once a week for bass jams. There’s nothing like five basses getting slapped all at the same time.
Welcome, that sounds like a pretty crazy jam.
Pretty sure I met you last time I came through Austin. I was playing with the Hillbilly Hellcats. We did a couple shows at the Elysium together.
It’s great! Ryan Gould, Chris Rhoades, Huck Johnson and Nate Rowe have been the usual suspects.

I don’t think that was me, I haven’t played Elysium since SXSW two years ago.
