My name is Shawn Supra. I started playing upright bass 15 years ago in Houston Texas. I’ve had the privilege of touring with Wayne Hancock, Kim Lenz, Rosie Flores and Wanda Jackson just to name a few. Last year I moved to Nashville and hooked up with Bob Wootton and The Tennessee Three. That has since ended, so if anyone know of a gig let me know!!
The site looks great. It is so cool that, because of sites like this, slap bass isn’t the bastard child of bass playing. Keep it up!
Shawn
Greetings Shawn, welcome aboard!
Howdy Shawn!
Hello there Mr. Supra!
Bummer ’bout the Tennessee Three not working out… any other work for you in Nashville?
Yeah it is a bit of a bummer about the Tennessee Three, but it was time for me to move on. That’s life I suppose. I’ve been playing electric bass around town in a Stax era soul band and doing a bit of upright with a band called Jakehead.
Welcome, all these bio’s make me feel so little haha.
Hello Shawn.
You lucky guy…playin with Wayne “the train”…
Yeah, I guess you could say “lucky”. I do have to say, though, that playing with Wayne gives you stamina in more ways than one. I once played a 5 1/2 show with him. No breaks. No shit. Man, that was brutal.
Congratulation, on this wonderful effort !
I first saw Wayne H. when I went to Austin a few years ago, then I met Erick Hokkanen, his fiddle player, nice guy too.
I think W.H never came back in France, and that’s a pity..Anyway it must be a good experience playin’ in his band.

Hi Shawn, nice to meet you.
I saw Bob Wootton and the Tennessee Three when they played in Dublin last year, were you on that tour?
Great show, but badly promoted… I only heard about it as the gig started, got a text from someone in the crowd. Luckily the venue is just 500 metres from my home so I dashed around there 😉
Anyway, nice to make your acquaintance.
S.

Hey Geoff,
I’ve been around. Since I quit The Tennessee Three, I’ve been playing jump blues at the 12th South Tap Room every other Monday and still doing the soul band. When are you in town next?
