Hello,
Glad about this site dedicated to Slap Bass.
I just came back from Rockabilly Rave 2009 in UK, I was playing with one of my band : Dagousket Ramblers. We just relased a new CD, a mixture of Raw Cajun Swing & Western Swing. We are touring in Europe mainly, but will be glad to find gigs in Louisanna or USA, please visit us at : http://www.myspace.com/dagousketramblers.
I play in another band named The Backleg Breakers, most of our gig are gig street in Paris, wedding a few festival (Rhythm riot 2008, La Roquebrou 2009): http://www.myspace.com/thebacklegbreakers. I have released 3 CD with that band.
I own two doublebasses : a 1937 King fitted with gut strings and an Engelhardt M1 fitted with my own weedwackers string (I share the French recipe with my friend Nicolas Dubouchet).
Here a solo sample from Shine, on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eynOj4cwLvM&feature=related
