I put this on the other forum too but figured I would throw it here as well, looking to get as much info as I can.
Been browsing around trying to get solid info on this, would using car subs work for a bass cab at all? I dont know if the speakers are the same or not, I have some pretty crazy subs that I took out of my car a few years ago and have been collecting dust. If they would work for bass speakers I could easily make a cab for them.
Soooooooo………….pro’s/cons?
I have a Gallien Kruger Backline 12″ that i took out and threw in a Car speaker 12″ and i have to say that it worked well and had a big fucking rumbling sound. The treble was crap but it gave me the greatest fucking bass ever! Btw the car speaker was from “Gas”.
Just try! what could happen?! B)
Yeah I am going to give it a shot anyways, found a ton of info on talkbass and sounds like they get very low power out of them compared to a normal bass speaker but whatever I need a project to work on anyways so going to build a cab for them and try it out.
