As it turns out, it was all work and none of us were allowed to surf! Heck, he (Pat) would not even allow us to wear shorts!
(There we were, in our dress shoes, white dress pants, aloha shirts and farmer hats…the only ones on the entire beach dressed for church!)
But, I guess I can’t complain. Got paid, and we really only played about an hour anyway.
The night before was way better. Private party, and I did the whole thing un-amplified on my jazz bass! I was amazed at how punchy and deep it was. It was a cement courtyard, with cement walls….I guess the sound was kind of focused?
Anyway, looks like we are back at Buster’s around the end of August!
